Dubai, UAE: Zabeel Properties has today announced the appointment of Rixos Hotels Group as the operator of Ottoman Palace, its new resort on the crescent of Palm Jumeirah.
As the first Ottoman themed hotel in Dubai, this five-star hotel and villa project, which will open its doors in November 2008, will boast 410 rooms and a further 38 villas - each with its own individual swimming pool and garden. With construction having started in May 2007, the project will be completed in record time, without compromising on the exacting attention to quality and detail that Zabeel Properties has become known for.
Dubai-based Zabeel Properties has also developed the Ottoman Palace to the highest environmental building standards, to celebrate the diverse Ottoman dynasty that existed for six centuries. Spanning the regions of South-Eastern Europe, the Middle East and North Africa, the Ottoman Empire became a world power at the centre of interaction of the eastern and western worlds.
This rich history has been incorporated into a seven-storey development that has been designed by renowned Turkish architect Kür?at Aybak to embrace the rich lifestyle of ancient Turkish culture with modern day luxury.
Announcing the appointment of Rixos Hotels Group, H.E. Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, Executive Chairman of Zabeel Investments, said: "The travel and tourism sector is fundamental to the growth of Dubai and the wider UAE, and visitors today are demanding more from their experiences. The number of travellers spending more than one night in the UAE is set to exceed 10 million by 2011 and we must continually raise the standard of service we offer to visitors, while at the same time producing environmentally sustainable projects that display our uncompromising focus on quality real estate.
"The Ottoman Palace does just that; providing guests with an experience that gives them the chance to escape, discover and surround themselves with opulent and traditional Turkish culture. We are delighted to announce this partnership with Rixos Hotels Group for the Ottoman Palace resort, which will be a valuable addition to Dubai."
Fettah Tamince, Entrepreneur and Founder of Rixos Hotels Group, said: "Rixos has become recognised as an industry leader from a strong foundation for Turkish hospitality. The splendour and artistry of the Ottoman Palace by Rixos will be awe-inspiring, taking guests back in time to experience the pomp, grandeur and exquisite culture of the once mighty Ottomans.
"All its distinctive features will be combined with a welcoming atmosphere and personal touch, which will truly make Ottoman Palace a destination in itself, placing this ethnic themed resort in a luxury category of its own."
Housed in a 97,000 square metre plot that includes 50,000 square metres of landscaping and associated amenities, the site is fronted by sea on two sides. It has been constructed by ZSML and managed by EC Harris.
Robert Norton, Chief Executive Officer of Zabeel Properties, stated: "The Ottoman Palace has been built according to the Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) Green Building Rating System, something which will be part of all our developments. Zabeel Properties' philosophy is focused on delivering quality real estate projects that not only meet, but exceed our customers' expectations."
The development will incorporate the world's largest and most decadent authentic Turkish spa. Covering 8,500 square metres, this signature 'Hammam' concept is unique to the Rixos Hotels Group, and will provide a revitalising spa offering a range of authentic ancient Turkish treatments with a modern and contemporary twist. Facilities will include steam baths, aromatherapy facilities, snow rooms, hydro massage areas, floating tanks and specialised saunas.
Ottoman Palace by Rixos will feature 410 rooms including deluxe and club rooms; plus family, business, executive and club suites; two Royal Suites and one Imperial Suite. Its 38 residential villas will provide absolute opulence for those wishing to indulge themselves in the Rixos lifestyle long-term.
Commenting further, Mohammed Ali Al Hashimi, said: "Our villas will be the most sought after villas on Palm Jumeirah, as they combine the unique offering of a home with access to all services and facilities of this five star resort. The villas will be launched for sale in due course."
Guests will be able to choose from a selection of gourmet restaurants offering a range of quality dining from classic Anatolian to modern day fusion and connoisseur French cuisine. The resort will also incorporate a world-class entertainment venue, the Mehteran, for star-studded concerts and events. Ottoman Palace will also become a haven for shoppers, with its own retail mall housing a range of luxury brands.
